YouThumb Tester (“the Extension”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and your rights. By using the Extension, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII).
We do not track your browsing activity outside of the functionality needed to preview thumbnails on YouTube pages.
We do not share or sell any data to third parties.
The Extension requires the following permissions to function correctly:
activeTab
Temporarily accesses the currently active YouTube tab after you click the extension.
Used only to overlay your thumbnail preview and simulate its appearance in Feed, Search, and Suggested videos.
storage
Saves your local preferences (e.g., last preview mode, UI settings, temporary test configurations).
Data is stored only on your device and is never sent to servers.
identity (optional)
Used only for optional beta access or feature gating.
Does not access emails, profile info, or contacts.
host permission
Limited to YouTube pages (youtube.com / www.youtube.com) to render previews.
The Extension does not run on other websites and does not collect data from YouTube.
The Extension does not use remote code.
All functionality and AI-based logic are bundled in the Extension package.
No code is fetched or executed from external servers at runtime.
All data remains on your device.
No personal information is transmitted or stored externally.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in this page with the updated effective date.
